Collective Earth Stories @ The Barbican

As the lead graphic designer, I developed the visual identity and exhibition design for Collective Earth Stories, a participatory installation exploring the deep relationship between people and the land. Collaborating closely with the team, I contributed to the overall development of the project, ensuring a cohesive visual and spatial experience that brought scientific research and cultural narratives together.

The project was presented as part of the Ecocity World Summit 2023, the world’s longest-running conference on sustainable cities, which welcomed over 1,000 attendees from 70+ countries. The installation invited participants from across the globe to contribute soil samples, which were analysed by CABI, a laboratory specialising in soil conservation. Taking an anthropological approach, the project gave voice to communities impacted by climate change, transforming their experiences into a powerful visual and physical archive.

I designed the branding, exhibition layout, and spatial storytelling, creating a distinctive identity that reflected the project’s ethos. The installation gathered over 200 soil samples from 35 countries, forming a collective record of environmental and human resilience.
