Collective Earth Stories
How to develop an identity and exhibition design that connects science, culture, and community at The Barbican.
A participatory installation exploring the deep connection between people and the land. Working closely across disciplines, we merged scientific research with cultural narratives to create an immersive, cohesive experience. Visitors were invited to contribute soil samples from around the world, later analysed by CABI (a lab focused on soil conservation) and transformed into a living archive of environmental and human resilience. As design lead, my role spanned branding, spatial storytelling, and creating a visual system grounded in inclusivity and hope. The result: over 200 samples collected from 35 countries, each a quiet testimony to communities navigating climate change.
