Spotify | Conceptual UI/UX Redesign

We developed a conceptual redesign of Spotify’s user interface, reimagining how music interacts with emotion. The project focused on deepening the emotional connection between users and their listening experience through intuitive design and mood-driven navigation.

The redesign introduced a color-coded system that categorises music based on emotions—relaxation, optimism, nostalgia, and more—allowing users to filter and discover tracks that match their mood. A new, streamlined control bar simplified navigation and enhanced the experience of curating mood-based playlists.

Additionally, the project reworked the Discover playlist layout, integrating artist insights, social media links, and a unique “private section” mode, enabling users to listen discreetly without influencing auto-generated recommendations. This user-centered approach aimed to make music discovery more personal, engaging, and reflective of real-time emotions.
